A TRUE CHAMPION !

Glacier (aka 'Rare Glimpse' show name) & Cassie
August 2002
Washington State "B" Rated H/J Show

Five Blues this day!

Deer Park Community Fair

This was a fun community event for Cassie.
We allowed Cassie to show here only because of Glacier and his illness.
We handicapped Cassie for this show, by choosing Glacier as her mount. We incooperated this into part of his rehab program. This Fair Show had quite a few flat classes. We are encouraging Glacier to become supple and regain his top line again. Cassie does a lot of flat work with him, asking him to bend and flex both directions, and importantly to drop his head and stretch his neck. Trot and track forward from behind - swinging his shoulders and lateral movements. Circles asking him to reach up under his barrel with the inside leg, especially the weaker right side. The actual working on the bit time, still with a time limit of about 10 - 12 minutes both directions for now, and then back to the stretching trot and walk. He also gets to go on trail rides. As of now, we do very little jumping and will probably keep it that way.

The team made both Newspapers in our town!

The Gazette and the Tribune were both seeking Cassie and Glacier for their paper!

More pictures from the Fair!
Even Western, but we won't tell Cassie ! Ha Ha !
Enjoy....

I think he makes a pretty good "pretend" Western Pleasure horse?
Whadda ya think? lol

Only comment the judge made was that she'd like to see him jog a bit slower ???
Ha..... Cassie told her this was the first time he had ever had a western saddle on him, you could see her jaw drop!
We all cracked up watching!
The team got a Res. Champion in the Western Equitation Advanced class!
and Blues in all the others except the Trail Class. He wanted no part of that, and we didn't ask! LOL

Pretty neat, Cassie is NO Cowgirl! But she can sure look cute and dress the part, eh ? ; )

As you may have noticed, Glacier has very much bonded with Cassie.
We feel Blessed....
